A large Demag AC450, the first of its kind in Australia has gone over while moving on site.
We have very little information on the exact circumstances of why it went over and Australia’s HSE are currently investigating the incident, the crane is owned by a family company based in Western Australia called General crane hire and we have been told this is a very good company with a very good track record in the past, which just shows shit can happen to even the best of us. The most important thing is nobody was hurt or killed in this incident and I’m sure lessons will be learned to prevent this from happening again. When we get a update from the investigation we will publish the findings to help others from doing the same in the future.
