On Wednesday ( 25/05/2022) a 5 axle 160t Tadano went over while rigging a LG1550 from German heavy crane specialist Maxikraf
As of yet there is no official statement of what caused the crane to over turn but from the photos the crane didn’t seem to have much if any ballast Installed and was on a fairly long boom with all 5 sections partly out, as you can see from the photos one of the rear rigger legs has snapped and the front riggers have retracted inwards.
reports from local news sources and emergency services suggest that nobody including the operator was injured which is very lucky considering that apparently the operator chose to bail out of the crane as it started to go over.
Damage on site seems to be minimal with just a container and a escort vehicle belonging to Maxikraft.
